NATIONAL FUTSAL CUP (5th round) – DISTRICT OF LYON AND RHONE OF FOOTBALL

NATIONAL FUTSAL CUP (5th round)

ALI GHEMMAZI: “WITH RESPECT BUT WITHOUT FEAR …”

FRESHLY BECOME AS SAINT-PRIEST THIS SUMMER, THE EX-TEAM BEL AIR FUTSAL AND ITS BRILLIANT INDIVIDUALITIES WILL HAVE TO SURPASS THIS WEEKEND FACING CHAVANOZ FC TO CONTINUE THE ADVENTURE IN THE NATIONAL CUP.
ALI GHEMMAZI, THE COACH, TALKS ABOUT THIS HISTORIC MEETING FOR THE CLUB… WHO IS ALREADY THE FIRST TO WIN THIS EVENT *…

Ali, how is this meeting looking against FC Chavanoz?
We can not wait to be there! Measuring against the best, there is nothing better to progress and FC Chavanoz is undoubtedly one of the best teams in the region. I hope we will have a whole group in good shape.

Four levels of difference is enormous. What will be the recipe to hope to pass against an opponent who was still in D1 last season?
Approach the match in the best possible conditions. Make as few mistakes as possible because facing a team of this caliber it will not forgive. Be effective on both sides of the court. We’re going to have to play a very big game to hope for something.

What are the strengths of your team this season?
We have a group that has known each other for quite a few years, with automatic mechanisms. We are still new to this discipline but we are not stingy with efforts. And above all we can count on an audience that responds and pushes us to surpass ourselves.

What do you think is your percentage chance of passing?
I’ve never been very good at math (laughs). What is certain is that we are far from being favorites for this meeting. But the outsider costume suits me perfectly. We will approach this match with the respect due to our opponents, but without any fear.

“WITH AS SAINT-PRIEST, WE KNOW OUR WELL AND WE APPRECIATE OURSELVES…”

From Team Bel Air to your origins, you joined AS Saint-Priest last summer. Why this shift, what does it bring you and what do you expect in the end?
The Bel-Air team started out as a team of friends. With the good results coming, we got caught up in the competition. And to exist, you had to be structured. The merger with AS Saint Priest happened naturally. The club has always supported us during the time of Team Bel-Air. We know each other well and we like each other. AS Saint-Priest is the second best club in the region behind OL. There is nothing better to have the best conditions to evolve. We hope to put AS Saint-Priest among the best futsal teams in the region and develop the discipline within the club.

The last word for you …
First of all, I hope that the public will be present en masse for this match because we will need all our supporters. I would like to thank AS Saint Priest through President Patrick Gonzalez. And a huge thank you to Muhammed Avci who oversees all of this with a masterful hand.
