Libreville, December 14, 2023 (AGP) – The commission, responsible for evaluating the debt of footballers for the period 2016-2023, estimated it at more than three billion CFA francs, it was noted.
Set up by the Minister of Sports a few days ago, this commission led by the secretary general of the said department, Bernard Obiang Metoulou, delivered its conclusions this Thursday.
The total amount of this debt including several seasons is estimated at 3,215,287,832 CFA francs. This includes in particular envelopes intended for players, clubs, Linaf, Linaffem and service providers.
“It should be remembered that the accounting documents, made available by the presidents of the national leagues, in particular as part of this debt assessment, will be examined by the financial services competent in the matter,” recalled Bernard Obiang Metoulou.
After receiving this report, the Minister of Sports, Dr. André Jacques Augand, informed the various parties that he would “officially submit the report to the President of the Transition, Head of State and also to the Prime Minister “, because “it is now up to them to resolve this problem and they will make arbitrations”, he assured.
