Within the framework of the National Flu Vaccination Campaign, the province advances with the application of doses in order to reduce complications, hospitalizations, sequelae and deaths caused by influenza virus infection in the population at risk.

From the Secretary of Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion, it was reported that the vaccines are available in some Health centers in the Capital, such as the Maternity Hospital and the Central Vaccination Center.

This campaign is aimed at five groups: pregnant women, boys and girls from 6 to 24 months, Health personnel, people over 65 years of age and people with risk factors or underlying pathologies.

People who do not fall into these groups, but who have a risk factor can receive the vaccine free of charge on request from their GP.

The flu or influenza is a highly transmissible respiratory viral disease since it is spread from one person to another, by contact with droplets from the respiratory tract of infected people that are spread by coughing, sneezing or through surfaces or objects contaminated with these secretions.

Although, in general, most of those affected recover in one or two weeks, in population groups at risk it can cause serious complications.
