The National Elections Authority announced the initial list of presidential candidates, whose papers have been accepted, and it also scheduled today, Tuesday, to receive the candidates’ objections, which were determined in accordance with the timetable for the 2024 presidential election procedures.
Regarding the selection of candidates for the electoral symbols that will be used by candidates in the 2024 presidential elections, in accordance with the National Elections Authority’s Resolution No. 19 of 2023 regarding determining electoral symbols and the rules for allocating them to candidates in the 2024 presidential elections, which stipulated that every student has a candidacy that has not been excluded for any reason. Choosing an electoral symbol from among the symbols listed in name and form according to the priority of submitting the candidacy application.
The decision issued by the Commission included 15 of the symbols specified by the Commission, which are the symbols of the star, sun, lion, horse, eagle, rooster, scale, airplane, wristwatch, palm tree, boat, umbrella, telephone, glasses, and ladder.
In accordance with the timetable and procedural schedule, the National Election Board announced the initial list of candidates whose papers were accepted, followed by the selection of candidates for their electoral symbols. In the event that one of the applicants does not choose his electoral symbol in accordance with the previous article, the Commission assigns an electoral symbol for him from among the available symbols, and then announces the final list. For candidates with their electoral symbols on November 9th.
It is worth noting that the National Elections Authority had announced the timetable for the procedures and dates for the presidential elections, which included opening the door for nominations on October 5 for a period of ten days ending on October 14, with the voting process for Egyptians abroad taking place on December 1, 2, and 3, and inside December 10, 11, and 12.
