Libreville, Sunday April 23, 2023 (Infos Gabon) –The Minister of National Education, Carmelia Ntoutoume Leclercq, received the brand new building last Friday in Libreville.
The new building to house the printing office of the Ministry of National Education was received last Friday in Libreville by the Minister of National Education, Carmelia Ntoutoume Leclercq. It is an R+1 building whose work was launched in 2021 by the authorities of the ministry. Built on an area of 560 m3, the new building consists of a ground floor reserved for reception and reception, a machine room, a storage warehouse, a darkroom and a men’s and women’s toilet block.
Upstairs is the administrative part made up of the office of the director of the printing works, his secretariat and six offices reserved for his collaborators. There is also an archive room, a kitchen and a lavatory for the agents. A real sigh of relief for this staff who had been working for nearly twenty years in unacceptable conditions in a building that no longer met standards.
The new architectural gem that has just grown from the ground will be equipped with the latest generation printing equipment in the coming days. This infrastructure will not only allow agents to work in better conditions by upgrading their profession, but will also allow the Ministry of National Education to save money by now printing school textbooks and any other document necessary for examinations and competitions in its own factory. “Coming home, here I am full of joy. Because when I look next to what the National Education printing office was, it was not something that met our expectations. We do a lot of things, by building, rehabilitating establishments and there, we affect the working conditions of our employees. With this printing press we will reduce expenses and we will be able to value our employees, ”said Carmelia Ntoutoume Leclercq.
On the need to preserve the tool, the opportunity was taken advantage of to make staff aware of how to make good use of this new tool. “You must be jealous of the good you have. You know where you come from and under what conditions you exercised. You have to own it, ”she said. The same joy could also be read on the faces of the agents in service within this printing works who had not practiced their profession for several years, for lack of equipment meeting current standards due to the dilapidated state of the infrastructure.
