National coach Louis van Gaal is working with the Dutch national team towards the next World Cup qualifier against Latvia (October 8), but this week he is also focusing on the number 18 of the Kitchen Champion Division.
Van Gaal is on the field at Telstar today for training in the run-up to the game against leader Jong AZ, where he will be on the bench on Friday as head coach.
Trainer Andries Jonker, who is celebrating his birthday today, is taking a step back for the occasion.
For the good cause
The national coach has been roped in by Telstar in the context of the Spieren voor Spieren foundation, of which Van Gaal and his wife are ambassadors. From every card sold before the duel in the Kitchen Champion Division, 2.50 euros will go to charity.
The proceeds of the training also go to Muscles for Muscles. “We ask for a contribution of 5 euros, including coffee and tea,” reports Telstar.
