The National Chamamé Festival of Northern Entre Ríos, which will be held in Federal from February 9 to 11, was presented yesterday in Paraná. This year it is expected to round out nights of pure chamamé with the presence of internationally recognized figures, along with top-level regional artists who will take the Ernesto Montiel stage.
Bastion of traditional rural culture, Federal stands, proud of its identity and history, in the north center of the province. Every year, at the beginning of February, thousands of people meet in the ‘City of song and hope’ to share one of the cultural events with the greatest specific importance in the cultural agenda of the province: the National Festival of Chamamé del Norte Entre Ríos, whose presentation in Paraná took place yesterday in the Manuel P. Antequeda Hall.
In the place, the rhythmic and rhythmic movement of the dance couple made up of Jordán Godoy and Lucila Pasarella, two young teachers who are members of Ballet el Hornerito, provided a framework in line with the presentation of the 49th edition of the traditional meeting, which will take place between on Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February 11.
Alicia Oviedo, mayor of Federal, together with officials from her team, presented the festival along with artists and historical participants of the meeting.
A panel made up of the province’s Secretary of Culture, Fabián Reato; the mayor of Federal, Alicia Oviedo; the Secretary of Tourism and Culture of that commune, Flavio Márquez; Agustina Gauna and other members of the organizing team provided details of the 2024 edition.
Reato was very satisfied with the press conference and highlighted the diversity and cultural richness that Entre Ríos offers through festivals and meetings. At the same time, he highlighted the deep identity character, linked to the cultural roots of the area and the premises with which the festival was created, whose first edition, as Santiago Miguel Rinaldi recalled, took place in February 1976. He will be the announcer and conductor – an emblematic presence at the meeting – who will share the role of master of ceremonies with Roberto Romani, another historic member of the festival who returns to the stage this year, Ernesto Montiel.
Oviedo, for its part, thanked the support provided by the head of Culture of the province to what he considered a festival that represents the culture of a region and its inhabitants and thanked the work of the commune’s Culture team to carry out this edition.
He announced that they expect a brilliant edition for the three days of the festival.
“We are all fully committed,” he said. And he announced: “We are ready this year to carry out the forty-ninth edition and we are already preparing to celebrate the Golden Anniversary edition next year.” “This is a festival that we are happy to organize,” added the mayor because, she explained, “it is popular and authentic.” “We are waiting for you to live from February 3, with the beginning of the activities in the bailanta and the Pre Federal and close with three nights of partying on the Ernesto Montiel main stage, which is our greatest pride.” She also invited people to come to the ‘City of song and hope’.
The official highlighted that for admission they thought of “a really very economical cost” and specified that for Federal residents a voucher is for sale that has a cost of 6,000 pesos and will be on sale until the 14th of January. “Then we will have advance sales for the general public,” she said, although she declined to give a definitive value.
FEATURED PRESENCES
“I am very happy with what we have achieved with the team,” Oviedo concluded. It is, he highlighted, “a wonderful billboard, with great artists will be on the Ernesto Montiel stage.”
“This year we have a billboard with very good local and regional artists,” explained Agustina Gauna. The Director of Culture of the Municipality highlighted the presence of names such as Monchito Merlo, Raúl Barboza, Los del Gualeyán, Juan Manuel Bilat and Diego ‘Tolato’ Trzuskot.
He also recalled that from January 20, the activities with the dancers will begin on the Club Unión grounds, which will resume on February 3 and 4. The program will have its center with the edition of the final of the Nuevo Valores 2024 contest and the nights of the festival, from Friday 9th to Sunday 11th of next month at the Pancho Ramírez Amphitheater.
In total there will be nine days of pure chamamé in an edition that proposes – partly due to the economic situation – a return to the essence of the meeting, especially in relation to the artistic billboard.
Also in the club there will be canteens to give the public the opportunity to enjoy gastronomy with traditional cuisine dishes. Also, so that everyone who wants to join us can attend, entry will be free of charge. “We are inviting people to bring their chairs so they can enjoy themselves more comfortably,” Gauna added.
The presentation highlighted the participation of the Festival’s musical embassy, made up of Luis `Pajarito’ Silvestre, Diego `Tolato’ Trzuskot and Agustina Gauna. “For us it is a pride, a joy, that they are the embassy and that they represent us, because they are musicians of extraordinary quality, not only for music, but also as people,” the mayor highlighted when thanking the three artists “for to be part of this work team, also putting in the effort, permanent work and all the will to collaborate with the General’s party.”
“We await the response from all Entre Ríos residents and the thousands of people who visit us every year from all over the country and abroad,” the official concluded.
