The National Center for Mental Health Promotion reviewed a number of creative projects that it will work to implement during the year 2024, and noted the use of innovative methods to confront widespread disorders among members of society due to life pressures, during a ceremony honoring participants in mental health promotion programs in the Western Region yesterday, at the King Abdul Center. Al-Aziz Al-Thaqafiya, Jeddah Municipality.
The Director General of the National Center for Mental Health Promotion, Dr. Abdul Hamid bin Abdullah Al Habib, during his honoring of the male and female trainers contributing to the success of the Center’s programs in the Western Region in 2023, called for the necessity of correcting misconceptions about mental health, and increasing community awareness of mental illnesses and methods of treating them. Reducing societal stigma towards the mentally ill, preventing diseases that threaten the lives of society, and increasing the ability to bear risks that affect the future of the new generation, and lead towards a better life.
He stressed the Center’s keenness to honor the male and female trainers who, through their cooperation, contributed to the success of the goals and the achievement of the desired goals, in appreciation of their efforts and cooperation and the activation and promotion of companies. He expressed his happiness at presenting a group of creative programs and projects implemented during the past year, and the ambitious innovative work plan that the National Center for Health Promotion is working on. Psychology is expected to be implemented in the year 2024.
He concluded his speech by saying that the Center sought to achieve a healthy society, and to achieve one of the goals of the Quality of Life Program and the outcomes of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, by focusing on the most widespread diseases in society, especially addiction, depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
For his part, the director of the Jeddah unit, A. Fouad bin Muhammad Al-Qarni, said that the Mental Health Center was established by a decision of the Council of Ministers, and its board of directors is chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd Al-Jalajel, and its membership includes many relevant authorities and specialists, and it aims to create national programs that contribute to enhancing mental health and creating a better life for members of society. Promoting positive participation and supporting groups most vulnerable to psychological disorders.
During a speech he delivered on behalf of the male and female coaches, Coach Dames Al-Shehri pointed out the sincere desire of everyone to enlighten society about the importance of mental health as one of the basics for achieving the quality of life of the individual and society, and raising awareness about diseases that spread widely as a result of the psychological pressures that the world suffers from, explaining that everyone is cooperating. To achieve the center’s goals and aspirations.
