National Bank warned about expensive gas in summer

In addition to expensive gas, Ukrainians are expected to increase other tariffs

From May, Ukraine will have an annual gas tariff, so there will be no seasonal price reductions.

The National Bank has warned that gas prices will be more than double that of last summer this summer. This is stated in Inflation report NBU for April.

Because of this, according to the report, tariffs for other utilities will also rise.

At the same time, at the end of the year, the gas price will be close to last year’s due to a gradual decrease in prices at European gas hubs during the year and increased competition in the domestic market.

“However, tariffs for heating and hot water supply will go up as they were not adjusted in 2020, despite the rise in gas prices and rising labor costs,” the report said.

As a reminder, next week gas suppliers should announce annual rates, which will be unchanged until May next year.

Note that in April, gas suppliers were mainly kept March gas tariffs… What the annual tariff will be is still unknown. According to media reports, it is expected in within 7.4-8 UAH per cubic meter.
