National ban on mink transport Inland

Immediately a transport ban applies for mink and manure of mink. In addition, the cabinet will impose a visitor ban on the stable and mink farmers must ensure that dogs, cats and other animals do not leave or enter the farm. Additional hygiene measures must also be taken.

At the moment, a corona outbreak has been signaled at five locations of mink farms. Four people have also contracted the virus from a mink. In addition, several cats and a dog have become infected.

Pressure to clean up all animals on infected farms has increased in recent weeks. The Cabinet would first like to await advice from the Outbreak Management Team for Zoonoses. The Hague will make a decision by 4 June at the latest. Both ministers reiterate that “all conceivable measures are being considered.”
