The entire meeting of the Public Administration and Security Committee of the National Assembly, which was expected to be intensively questioned about the ‘Jamboree Incident’, ended in lameness in less than 30 minutes.

This is because ruling party lawmakers did not come to the meeting room while protesting that Jeonbuk Governor Kim Kwan-young did not attend.

Minister Lee Sang-min, who was scheduled to attend the National Assembly for the first time after the dismissal of the impeachment, also did not appear.

Reporter Kim Gun-hwi covered the story.

The first provisional session of the National Assembly in August, the Public Administration and Security Committee of the National Assembly.

In addition to heavy rain damage such as the Osong Underpass disaster, it was expected that inquiries would pour in about the Jamboree limping, but the seats of the ruling party members were vacant.

The issue was whether or not Kim Kwan-young, governor of North Jeolla Province, was present.

In response to the position of the ruling party demanding attendance, saying that the governor of Jeonbuk Province should be held accountable for the disruption of the Jamboree, the opposition party refuted that raising the issue of the governor’s non-attendance regardless of the originally agreed schedule for this meeting is for the ruling party to shift responsibility.

″What is the reason Kim Kwan-young, Governor of North Jeolla Province, is not like that? Does it make sense that the Jamboree issue will not be discussed at this place where the plenary session is held today?″

″It is still to avoid the responsibility in order to blame the former government and Jeollabuk-do, and to pass on the responsibility beyond that… ″

Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min, who was scheduled to attend the National Assembly for the first time since the impeachment dismissal, and Kim Young-hwan, governor of North Chungcheong Province, who were scheduled to answer questions about the Osong underpass disaster, did not appear.

″As if some government department moves like a pawn of the ruling party… I think this is ignoring the National Assembly and destroying parliamentary democracy.”

As the Public Safety and Security Commission ended in 27 minutes, inquiries about the Osong underpass disaster and the Do Not Ask weapon riot were postponed without reservation.

″What are you afraid of, secretary? I think everyone has seen it.”

The ruling and opposition parties continued the battle for responsibility, saying, “Stop seeking Governor Kim Kwan-young,” and “The government and the ruling party were frantic on watering.”

The Board of Audit and Inspection announced that they had started the preparation stage for the audit from today on the overall Jamboree event, and that they would begin an on-site audit as soon as they went through internal procedures.
