To me, this political reality today is very strange. Over the past 20 days, I have asked myself over and over again what is the calling given to me. What is the path to success for the regime that made it difficult? How can we ensure victory in the general election? And I would like to announce my decision today to the people and party members. I will not run for this People’s Power National Convention. If we can prevent national concerns about division and confusion in our party and return to harmony and unity, I will bravely put it down. Now, with the spirit of “Seondang Husa (先黨後私), People and People (忍中有和),” we are about to embark on a long journey of new future and solidarity by finding the dreams and visions that all citizens and party members comrades want to achieve. If my retreat today can illuminate the future for all of us, I think that is also a step forward. I believe in history and I believe in the people. My sincerity and sincerity to protect the values ​​of liberal democracy and to establish the Republic of Korea do not change anywhere. In 2019, our party members and the people created the possibility of regime change in the National Assembly and in public squares across the country, including Gwanghwamun Square, and opened the stream of the birth of the Yoon Seok-yeol government. It is an infinite honor and joy that I was able to go through that historic long journey with the people and party members. We will do our best as a ‘eternal party member’ so that the people’s strength can do better and restore more people’s trust. We will protect the honor of the orthodox conservative party of the Republic of Korea. Finally, I leave you with my earnest appeal. It is a regime change that has been achieved with great difficulty. This precious opportunity to restore people’s livelihood, restore the rule of law, and restore constitutional order must never be wasted. Political parties are the root of liberal democratic politics. Never give up on inclusion and respect. Chaotic vitality is needed rather than orderly lethargy.
