National Action Party Urges Mexico’s Diplomacy with United States over Immigration Issue

“Once again, I invite Marcelo Ebrard to stop presenting books and to start working on diplomacy issues with the United States” was what the coordinator of the National Action Party parliamentary group, Alfredo Chávez, expressed regarding the elimination of Title 42 of the neighboring country.

In the same way, he extended said invitation to the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, to also give the migration issue the attention it deserves, especially now that a greater number of migrants are expected to arrive in Ciudad Juárez.

“We need the federal government to lay the foundations for what the immigration policy will be and to make public the agreement it signed with the United States on whether or not we are a safe country for migrants,” he said.

He stressed that “there is a crisis that is still latent” in terms of migration, which has worsened this year, which is why he insisted on the urgency of addressing this problem.

He recalled that various deputies from the National Action Party and Institutional Revolutionary factions since last December requested through the State Congress to allocate resources to the National Institute of Migration in order to be able to address this problem.

Faced with the alert that there is a new migratory wave that will affect Chihuahua, Chávez Madrid once again asked the federal secretaries to visit Ciudad Juárez to learn about and solve the problem that is being faced.

Finally, he regretted that there is opacity regarding the handling of the issue, since he pointed out that Juarez residents are the main ones affected by the Federal Government’s evasion of the immigration issue, therefore, given the elimination of Title 42, he hopes that action will be taken by part of the Federation.
