No one is supposed to ignore joy… Indeed, the 0-0 obtained this Saturday evening March 5, at home at the Dunlop stadium, by the Montlucon Football (Combine) facing the Thonon Evian Grand Geneva FC, leader of Pool M in National 3, is certainly not a victory in accounting terms. But it certainly is in terms of self-sacrifice and solidarity.
First half
After having already hooked the Haut-Savoyards (1st, 37 points), at home in the first leg (0-0)Montluçon (6th, 23 points) therefore put it back in the Allier on the return, on the occasion of the sixteenth day of the season.
The visitors however tried everything to win. After one coiled strike Bourbonnais Mai, cleared by goalkeeper Thébaux (14th), it was the Chablais who monopolized the ball and were dangerous. But neither the shot with rebound de Chaibi (19e), ni les defender heads central Bouchéma on set pieces (20th, 24th) did not score.

Second half-time
In the second half, Bryan Bergougnoux’s men further increased their pressure. Twice Chaibi saw his banderillas not succeed (52nd and 62nd). Ditto for Tirard, who hit the crossbar after having dribbled past goalkeeper Boudersa but too removed his shot (70th). Then it was Chaibi who bypassed Boudersa twice, without managing to straighten the leather sufficiently either (79th, 87th).
Locals in all this? They defended hard. But not only. The diving head of Hari (47th) and especially the lob attempted by May face-to-face with Thébaux (81st), made their vis-à-vis tremble. The match point was however for the Thononais, but Radojevic missed the target facing the almost empty goal (92nd). Empty like the batteries of the Auvergnats after all that…
