NM1 – There were surprises during the 1/8th first leg of National 1 (NM1). The three favorites for the final victory (Chartres, Rennes, Vitré) lost in particular. They will not have the right to lose the next match under penalty of being already eliminated from the playoffs.
Seven of the eight meetings of the 1/8 finals of National 1 (NM1) took place this Friday with the lowest ranked team while the meeting between Tours and Loon-Plage will take place on Saturday.
The three favorites for the final victory (Chartres, Rennes, Vitré) bowed and will not have the right to lose the next match under penalty of being already eliminated from the playoffs. Chartres was first beaten on the Toulouse floor after extra time (final score 93-90). Grace to an excellent Samir Mekdad (19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists) and Victor Mopsus close to the triple-double (15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists), the Toulouse managed to contain the onslaught of Gide Christmas, who alone carried the CBM with 36 points at 73% on shots, 7 rebounds and 2 assists for 40 evaluation.

For its part, Rennes lost to Boulogne-sur-Mer (106-94). The teammates of Leo Behrend (23 points at 50% on shots, 6 rebounds and 1 assist) have never been able to fight against SOMB who signed an excellent collective performance with more than 7 players at 10 points or more with the added bonus of an excellent address behind the arc (15/30). For his part, Vitré did not go far from victory at Feurs (80-79). While they were led by more than 15 points before the 4th quarter, Louis Prolhac (14 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists) scored a 3-point basket – more than 10 meters away! – allowing the Bretons to lead 79-78 at 12 seconds from the final whistle. Unfortunately, Hugo Bequignon was then guilty of the unsportsmanlike foul on Damien Archinard who converted his two free throws. On the last action of the game, Hugo Bequignon managed to free himself from the marking to go up to the alley-oop but missed his attempt.
Mulhouse, Poitiers and Le Havre make a good move
Without Joe Burton, whose return was hoped for at the start of the playoffs, Orchies lost to Caen (66-61 final score). In a match marked by the awkwardness of both teams (5/26 points from 3-pointers for the CBC and 10/37 for the BCO), the Caennais showed their superiority thanks to Tyrere Marshall (13 points and 8 rebounds) and Lucas Veraghe (12 points and 8 rebounds) despite the excellent game of Glen Duro (21 points at 72% on shots, 6 rebounds and 6 assists).
Le Havre, Mulhouse and Poitiers have done the good of the operation of these 1/8th finals going by winning away. Le Havre can thank valentine mustache with his 30 points at 71% on shots, 6 rebounds and 3 assists for 28 evaluation) against Rueil (79-89 final score). For its part, Mulhouse had to wait for the third quarter (17-27) to win at Andrézieux (85-93). Aaron Falzon finished as the game’s top scorer with 22 points. Finally, Poitiers narrowly won at Lorient (70-71). Hugo Suhard (13 points at 50% on shots and 11 assists) had the winning shot for CEP Lorient but his attempt failed. Note the fine performances of But Coulibaly (18 points and 14 rebounds) and Courtney Stockard (22 points).
