Nati plays first European Championship qualifying matches in Mannheim and Schaffhausen

The 2024/25 season starts with a bang for the national team.

As part of the 2026 European Championship qualification, Switzerland will face Germany in Mannheim on November 7 at 6:30 p.m. The DHB has definitely scheduled the game yesterday, Wednesday, in the SAP Arena.

Germany – Switzerland is becoming a classic this winter. After the match in Mannheim, the two nations will meet again in Herning, Denmark, as part of the 2025 World Cup. In May, the third meeting within six months will take place, when the Germans will be guests in Switzerland again for the European Championship qualifiers (venue not yet determined, see below).

But first the focus is on November 7th and Mannheim. This poster is also special for national coach Andy Schmid. The SAP Arena is his second home, as he wore the Rhein Neckar Löwen jersey there for 12 years and celebrated his greatest successes as an active player. For Schmid’s coaching debut against Germany, he will now be playing in Mannheim of all places.
