Redmond will join Burnley on a two-year contract, with the possibility of renewal for an additional season.
The 29-year-old became a free player after his departure from Besiktas after one season in the Turkish League, during which he scored six goals in 28 matches.
On joining Burnley, Redmond said, “I have always had aspirations to play again in the English Premier League. The Burnley project corresponds to my ambitions.”
“The coaching staff feel they can improve my game further and see the value I can bring both on and off the pitch. It feels like the perfect match.”
Redmond, who previously won one international match with the English national team, participated in 264 matches in the Premier League after spending six years in Southampton and three in Norwich City.
In turn, the Belgian coach of Burnley, Vincent Kompany, added, “Nathan brings a lot of experience from playing in the English Premier League and finally from his time in Turkey, where he was wonderful.”
“He has a fantastic work ethic, great skill and a willingness to keep learning. He also brings personality to our club which will benefit the younger players here.”
