Nathan Aspinall used to be a promising goalkeeper at youth football club Manchester United. Eventually, The Asp decided to pursue a career in darts.

When asked about his three role models, Aspinall still names two footballers. “David Beckham definitely and also Cristiano Ronaldo, both players with a past at Manchester United,” Aspinall told Sky Sports.

Third: The 31-year-old Englishman does not choose a footballer. “Just take Eminem, although I doubt he would be interested in darts,” laughs Aspinall.
