Last night, this year’s participants of “Skal vi danse” could pat themselves on the shoulder over that the premiere was finally over, after several weeks of hard training.
Several of them impressed a lot on the floor, but a recurring theme in the feedback was that they all had to work with the technique, which is perhaps not so strange since it was, after all, the season’s first program.
One of those who impressed a lot and offered a lot of energy was former “Love Island” participant Nate Kahungu (24). And even before he took the dance floor, host Katrine Moholt (46) described him as her “favorite reality participant”.
Earlier this week, it was also announced that Kahungu is best placed on the odds of the betting companies Betsafe and Bettson. Both agreed that Kahungu will win this year’s Shall we dance ». It reported TV 2.

– Have their things to fulfill
Together with dance partner Helene Spilling, he danced his way through a sexy salsa and collected 27 points from the judges.
When Dagbladet talked to Kahungu after the premiere, he could tell that he was happy, but that there were things he could have done better.
– But I can not sit and linger afterwards. I did my best there and then, and I know the things the judges teased, we also focused on. But when you are there and stress about landing everything, and that everything should sit as well as possible, then I thought rather that you know what, I can just do everything I can shitty, and then I get to put in everything else so who saw, he told.
– They noticed that I was good at it, and that I have to work a little with the partner contact and then I have succeeded with what I tried, he added.
When asked what it feels like to be a viewer favorite, he initially answers that it is definitely positive.
– But it has its things to fulfill. People have expectations too, I’m not a favorite because they like my face. I’m a favorite because they think I’m good at dancing, and there’s a lot of energy. So I just have to keep that level throughout the competition, then I think this will go well, he says, and adds:
– But there are an incredible number out there with fantastic potential and there are an incredible number out there who are also at a much higher level than I am. So I think this is going to be an incredibly fun season.
– Do you think there may be some letters of proposal?
– I tried to find love on TV, and it did not go so well. So I do not know, I probably think that if the courtship letters come they will be scariest through, I also think that I will remain single for a while, he answers.

– Maybe it was too much smile
Another who swung on the floor last night was Marte Bratberg (31). Together with dance partner Benjamin, she served an energetic cha cha.
Bratberg received a lot of praise for his charisma, but was told that there was a lack of technique. Of the judges, she ended up with four sixes.
She told Dagbladet after the broadcast that it was difficult to know if it was better or worse than she usually does.
– But I think we ended up in the middle of the tree, so it’s all right, she added.
– Did something go wrong on the parquet?
– Not really. I made a lot of mistakes on the tests, but I do not think so. Except that I probably did not have enough hips or straight legs which is important with cha cha, she replied, and continued:
– It was clearly something that was missing, but I do not quite know what it was. It was maybe too much smile, that was what the judges pointed out, but according to Benjamin, cha cha should have a lot of smile.
Kristin Gjelsvik (34), on the other hand, was not happy with her performance on the floor. In a leopard costume and with an intense look, she played across the floor with her dance partner Catalin while they performed a paso double.
– I’m not happy, I’m so moderately happy. It could have been better. But it’s okay to have something to reach for. It gets better with time, Gjelsvik said after the broadcast to Dagbladet.
–
Made three mistakes
Furthermore, Gjelsvik explained that she made three mistakes during the performance, which she found annoying.
– We have terpet and terpet, and terpet. And it’s like this: really, again ?! So it’s so annoying, but my God, we got very good points. I got an eight and it’s completely sick, she continued.
However, Gjelsvik made no secret of the fact that she is strict with herself.
– Catalina is so fantastic, he has sent me so many videos for inspiration with such professional Latin dancers who have danced paso double for twenty years. And I think I should look like that, she says, and continues:
– But then I do not look like that and then I am disappointed to death. So it may be that I also have to lower expectations a few notches. So, I’m not a professional dancer and I just have to realize that. My God, I’m just glad I remembered the choreography at all, because I was a little scared of that.
Gjelsvik and his dance partner ended up with 26 points. However, Gjelsvik admitted to Dagbladet that she did not remember any of the feedback she received.
– After the dance, I did not hear what the judges said. I did not hear what anyone said. So I just stood there and just said, “yes.” I actually heard nothing, so the sound was a problem. I did not get a single feedback, she laughed.
