On July 6, the fourth film in the superhero series about “Thor” premiered in Norway. Dagbladet’s reviewer called the new Marvel movie “funny, touching and charming, but first and foremost messy” – and rolled a three on the dice.
In “Thor – Love And Thunder”, we once again meet the star actors Chris Hemsworth (38), Christian Bale (48) and Natalie Portman (41) in Norse disguise. The latter had to go through a real change before the recording started. For the role of superhero Jane Foster, the 41-year-old had to go through bone-hard training to build muscle – a process she tells more about in a major interview with The Times.
Portman calls it wonderful to have to get bigger for the film role:
– It is quite unusual and fantastic to be given the task of dressing up as a woman, says the famous actress to the British major newspaper.
–
– As small as possible
Actors often have to change both appearance and body shape to capture roles, and over the years there have been countless stories from Hollywood about extreme dieting and stars who puts health at stake to get the dream job.
Portman, for her part, is happy that for this film role she did not have to lose weight, but gain weight.
“Most of the body changes we are asked to make involve being as thin as possible,” says the superstar.
In the interview, the 41-year-old also says that computer animation has been used to transform her 160 centimeters into a “giant figure”.
“It’s the joy of computer – animated movies that someone can turn a tiny little woman into a great character,” Natalie Portman told The Times.
Natalie Portman made her breakthrough as an actress at the age of twelve, in the film Léon from 1994. Since then, the Israeli-American actress has starred in several “Star Wars” films, and also won the Oscar for best female lead in the film “Black Swan” from 2010.
