Natalie Geisenberger, Germany’s Most Successful Winter Olympian, Announces Retirement

Munich: Germany’s most successful Winter Olympian Natalie Geisenberger is ending her sporting career after 16 years. In “Blickpunkt Sport” on BR television, the 35-year-old explained that now was the perfect time. Geisenberger, now a mother of two, crowned her career at the Winter Olympics in February 2022 when she won gold individually and with the team in Beijing – and became the most successful German athlete at the Winter Games with a total of six Olympic luge victories and a bronze medal. And about football: Bayer Leverkusen secured themselves in the top group of the Bundesliga with a 4-1 win against newly promoted Heidenheim. Frankfurt couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against Freiburg. The results of the 2nd league: Kaiserslautern – Rostock 3:1 Düsseldorf – Hannover 1:1 and Kiel – Hertha BSC 2:3.
