Natalia Mas he is by no means a newcomer to the ‘Department of Economics. The ERC management opted for a veteran with extensive experience in the engine room of the different departments with the cheapest weight within the Catalan administration. And this was previously fought during a decade in the offices of the European Central Bank.
He currently held the Directorate General of Industry, from where he piloted complex negotiations such as the new National Pact for Industry – which is dwarfed due to the instability of the Executive – or the search for a successor for Nissan land, a process that could end next week. Both have requested a negotiating belt and a dialogue with a large number of actors – only four institutions and as many unions sit at the Nissan table -, which in the current parliamentary weakness of the ERC will be fundamental to bring together variable geometries.

But before positioning itself as the industrial brain of Ruggero TorrenteMas formed a triumvirate in the “Ministry” of Economy together with Oriol Junqueraswhen from 2015 to 2017 he was ‘vice president’, e Pere Aragones, who exercised the second of this. During this tenure, in which Junqueras sought to pilot the creation of the Catalan Treasury, he was director general of economic analysis. A position which, reconfirmed in the following legislature, is already under the direction of Aragonès in the vice-presidency and with Junqueras in prison.
During the 16 months that ERC and Junts lived together, this legislature of Mas was busy trying to start the reindustrialisation of Catalonia. Under his direction, the investment by South Korean Iljin was conceived, who is investing 600 million euros in Mont-Roig to install a factory of components for electric batteries. Also the landing of the Austrian company Kronospan, with 180 million euros to build a new plant in Tortosa and treat the wood there.
