Natalia Klitschko on refugee children: “There is hope in their eyes”

A cruel war has been raging in Ukraine for months. Millions of people have already had to leave their homes, including many children. Natalia Klitschko (48) works for these children in the Refugio art workshop, which supports children and young refugees with creative offers. The musician drew attention to this important project at the Tribute to Bambi on October 5th. Two days later, BUNTE.de met the Ukrainian at the Goldene Henne in Leipzig and spoke to her about the fate of the runaway children: “Behind every child’s eyes there is a story. […] Whenever you look in the eyes, there is still a lot of suffering, but also a lot of hope. Children can now laugh again and look to the future. Our job is to help them. “

In the video above, Natalia Klitschko explains why art and music in particular help children and how she uses events like the Goldene Henne to draw attention to the situation in her home country.
