Nasty, Netanyahu boycotts the appointment of his successor

TEL AVIV – Former Prime Minister (PM) Israel Benjamin Netanyahu declined to attend the appointment of his successor Naftali Bennett.

Netanyahu’s boycott appears to be a form of anger over his defeat in the previous Israeli parliamentary vote.

The Bennett administration narrowly won 60-59 in a vote of confidence in the Knesset on Sunday.

Netanyahu also believes the new government will not last long. He even threatened to return to the office “soon”.

In his inaugural address as prime minister, Bennett stressed, “We will continue with what we agreed on, and there are many things we agreed on, transportation, education and so on, and what separates us we will leave behind.”

Bennett was booed several times during his speech to parliament.

Meanwhile, there was an embarrassing scene for Netanyahu after he lost the vote to establish Israel’s new government.

After voting that confirmed his defeat, Benjamin Netanyahu sat back in the chair of prime minister (PM) which no longer belonged to him.

Netanyahu, who was also the former prime minister of Israel, was immediately reminded that he needed to move from the prime minister’s seat to the opposition seat in the parliament.

He was embarrassed to follow the request of a member of parliament who reminded him to stand up again and leave the seat he had been sitting for a long time.

The video of the wrong sitting was immediately circulated in a number of international media outlets, including the BBC.
