Nasrallah statement: “We targeted a military base near Tel Aviv” – 2024-08-26 06:36:51

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in his message today after the organization’s attack on Israel made it clear that it was their choice not to target civilian areas or infrastructure.

Hezbollah “has taken care not to attack civilians, even as Israel has attacked civilians in its assassination attempts. We decided that the target should be military, not political or infrastructure, and that it would be related to the destruction of Fuad Shukr and would be close to Tel Aviv.”

“Each party in the axis of resistance has the right to determine when and how to respond. After Hezbollah’s response against Israel, Iran and the Houthis will also respond,” he added.

Nasrallah claimed that none of the group’s precision missiles or strategic missiles were damaged by the Israeli strikes

As for whether there would be another attack by Hezbollah, he noted that the organization would assess the impact of Sunday’s operation and if the results were not deemed satisfactory, there would be another “response” in the future.

Attack 110 kilometers from the border

The operation was completed as planned “precisely,” Nasrallah said, adding:

“We identified a central target deep inside Israel, an Israeli intelligence base, located 110 kilometers from the Lebanese border and 1.5 kilometers from Tel Aviv,” Nasrallah said, noting there were no plans to fire on targets in Tel Aviv, including Ben Gurion Airport and the Israeli Defense Ministry.

He said 300 Katyusha rockets were fired to distract Israel’s Iron Dome and other defense systems to allow drones to enter Israeli airspace, which were first launched from the Bekaa region, deep inside Lebanon.

Nasrallah maintained that none of the group’s precision missiles or strategic missiles were damaged by the Israeli strikes and that there is no intention to use them today, but they may be used in the near future.

With a photo of commander Fouad Soukr by his side as he spoke, Nasrallah said the group’s response to his killing had been delayed as they wanted to give the ongoing Gaza ceasefire negotiations a chance.
