The Lebanese were quick to confirm once again that “Hezbollah” and its weapons control the country’s political, constitutional, media and economic game.
Yesterday, Hezbollah secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ended speculation about the characteristics of the desired president in Haret Hreik, and Nasrallah narrowed the candidates down to similarities to Emile Lahoud or Michel Aoun.
Nasrallah asked that the future president “reassure the resistance, not be afraid of the Americans and give priority to the national interest over his own fear, and not sell or buy”, underlining that “we do not want a president who covers or protects the resistance because he doesn’t need that, but a president who doesn’t stab him in the back”.
It was extraordinary that Nasrallah denounced the October 17 movement, describing it as treason and subordination to the outside world, and that it was the cause of chaos and bankruptcy.
Parliamentary sources told Janoubia that Nasrallah closed the door on the presidential elections and threw the key into the international bazaar.
He says Nasrallah, with his desire for a new president similar to Lahoud and Aoun, closes the door to consensus, imposes a challenging candidate, or blackmails everyone into a two-and-a-half-year vacation, as he did to bring Aoun in as president.
Nasrallah betrays the movement!
In another joke, which was notable, Nasrallah exposed the October 17 movement, describing it as treason and subordination to the outside world, and that it was the cause of chaos and bankruptcy.

This remark, remarkable in its timing, prompted a response from representatives Halima Kaakour, Ibrahim Mneimneh and the Taqaddam Party, as the responses were unanimous in refusing to accuse the October 17 Movement of subordination to embassies, as well as rejecting treason and allegations of collaborating overseas and spreading chaos.
Demarcation with Greek Cypriots
Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib took advantage of a visit to Athens to announce the start of negotiations with the Greek-Cypriot administration regarding the delimitation of areas of maritime jurisdiction.
Nasrallah, with his desire for a new president similar to Lahoud and Aoun, closes the door to consensus and imposes a challenging candidate, or blackmails everyone with a long two-and-a-half-year vacuum, as he did to bring Aoun president.
He said this yesterday during a joint press conference with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias, on the sidelines of an official visit to Greece.
Bou Habib referred to the maritime borders agreement that Lebanon signed with Israel last October, and said the trail would continue with the Greek Cypriots.
