Central Leadership Council (DPP) NasDem Party admitted that he no longer pushed the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa to be a running mate for vice president Anies Baswedan Of 2024 presidential election.
The head of the NasDem DPP, Effendi Choiri, admitted that his party had established communication and offered Khofifah to accompany Anies. However, he did not accept the offer.
“He doesn’t want to or doesn’t dare,” said Gus Choi, his nickname when confirmed, Friday (21/7).
Khofifah’s name was widely reported to be included in the Anies vice presidential exchange proposed by NasDem. The chairman of the DPP NasDem Party, Sugeng Suparwoto, admitted that he had communicated with Khofifah about this.
“Included in the selection, yes, the selection of the name of the vice president and so on. As previously mentioned, Mrs. Khofifah is indeed one of the people we communicate with,” said Sugeng at the end of March.
Meanwhile, Gus Choi said that currently his party is not pushing for any particular figure to accompany Anies. He said his party had completely handed over the cawapres affairs to Anies.
“It’s up to Anies,” he said.
Anies on several occasions has always been talkative when asked about his running mate. He said the cawapres figure would be announced at the right time.
The three parties that support Anies, NasDem, PKS, and Democrats, have confirmed that the name of the cawapres is in Anies’ pockets and only needs to be announced.
