In addition to the communication problem, another pressing issue looms over the Voyager mission. The probes rely on plutonium reserves to generate electricity, and these reserves are running dangerously low. As a result, measures are being taken to conserve power and extend the lifespan of the spacecraft. Astronomer Stamatios Krimigis, who has been involved in the Voyager 1 mission since its inception, shared his concerns, saying, “My motto for a long time was 50 years or bust, but we’re sort of approaching that.”
