NASA’s Rover Prepares to Collect Mars Rock Samples to Be Taken to Earth

CALIFORNIA, iNews.id – Rover NASA, Perseverance is preparing to collect its first rock samples on Mars. These rocks will be brought back to Earth for research.

Perseverance traveled south, right at the starting point of the NASA rover’s landing in February. The sampling process will last for 11 days.

The rock, which is described as flat paver rock, is expected to provide a basic picture of what the general Martian geology looks like.

Quoted from Mashable, Tuesday (27/7/2021), to get rock, the rover uses an abrasion tool that looks like a wide drill bit. Perseverance will excavate the rock surface, remove dust with compressed air, and then look at the rock composition.
