NASA’s Orion breaks the record for becoming the spacecraft with the farthest distance

NASA’s Orion probe recently held the record for achieving the longest distance ever achieved by a manned spacecraft. This aircraft is capable of traveling up to 268,563 miles from its home planet of earth. This was also broadcast by Orion Space Craft via its official Twitter account yesterday, Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Previously, the record for the longest distance was held by a manned spacecraft during the Apollo 13 mission, performed in April 1970. In that mission, the aircraft managed to lift its crew (astronauts) up to 248,655 miles from planet Earth.

The same Orion aircraft is currently undergoing the Artemis I mission which was launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on November 16. The 26-day mission aims to test the Orion aircraft to its limits and ensure the aircraft can safely transport crew.

In addition to testing the craft, the Artemis I mission also aims to return astronauts to the moon for the first time in five decades. If this mission is successful, NASA’s mission has reached the semi-finished stage.

Start from page The international news, scientists recently commented that they were impressed with the performance of the Orion spacecraft. With the European Space Agency (ESA) module, the planes used less fuel than expected, generating more energy than expected.

The Orion spacecraft is expected to return to Earth on December 11 and land off the coast of San Diego, California.

If the Artemis I mission is successful as planned, NASA will then select a crew to participate in the Artemis II mission. The mission is expected to be accomplished as soon as 2024. In the Artemis II mission, astronauts will follow the same trajectory as in Artemis I, i.e. circle the moon but not land on its surface.

If the mission is successful, the Artemis III mission can be scheduled for launch in 2025. In this mission, astronauts should be able to set foot on the moon again.
