NASA’s Mars Rover Helicopter Ingenuity Completes 55 Successful Missions

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) — The Mars rover helicopter Ingenuity reported on Wednesday (Aug. of the organization Completed 55 missions to Mars

The helicopter made its 55th flight on Aug. 12, flying up to 10 meters and covering a distance of 264 meters in 143 seconds.

Incidentally, Ingenuity was brought to Mars by the Persevia Rennes surface rover. NASA’s Perseverance lander landed at Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021, and is also the first technological demonstration to test powered flight on another planet.

The helicopter is designed to fly for up to 90 seconds, a distance of almost 300 meters at a time, and a height of about 3-4.5 meters above the surface.
