For 75 hours, astronauts walked on the moon in spacesuits and drove a lunar rover, with the world watching on televisions. The Apollo program was shut down after their return to the Pacific Ocean in December 1972, and since then the moon has remained unexplored and empty, a siren in the sky. NASA is now planning a return.

This time, the stay will be long term. To achieve this, NASA will build houses there – houses that can be used not only by astronauts but also by ordinary civilians. They estimate that in 2040, humans will have their first settlement in space. Life on Mars should follow soon. Some in the scientific community believe NASA’s timeline is too ambitious, especially ahead of proven success with a new lunar landing.
