This is the first time that the helicopter has landed in Mars in February and fly for the first time in April, helps NASA planning a cruising path Perseverance while exploring Jezero Crater, drilling for rock samples to hunt for signs of ancient life.
NASA announced in late April that it would retain a small staff on the team Ingenuity to plan future flights, but Teddy Tzanetos, NASA Ingenuity team leader, said “every flight could be the last,” noting that the helicopters are made with commercially available, or available goods, components.
