Data collected by satellites will help scientists continue to monitor health Earth by detecting traces of human activities and their impacts.
The data will therefore lead to suggestions for better management of critical resources, including food crops, irrigation water, and forests.
Pictures collected by Landsat 9 will add to the 50 years of free and publicly available data from the mission, which is the longest recorded data record of Earth’s landscape taken from space.
NASA will broadcast the launch live on NASA Television, with coverage starting 41 minutes before the satellite takes off.
