MANADOPOST.ID–The US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will study the behavior of unidentified flying objects or UFOs. This was revealed by NASA’s new leader Bill Nelson.
Nelson said, until now it is not clear what the real form of the high-speed object is. However, he does not believe UFOs are evidence of extraterrestrials visiting Earth. “I would have known it was an alien. But it’s too early to rule out that possibility,” Nelson said.
However, researchers are also not sure about the mysterious object. “We don’t know if it’s an extraterrestrial. We don’t know if it’s the enemy. We don’t know if it’s an optical phenomenon. We don’t think this is an optical phenomenon because of the characteristics described by the Navy jet’s pilot. The point is we want to know,” said Nelson, quoted from CNNIndonesia.com.
Meanwhile, NASA press secretary Jackie McGuinness said Nelson has not yet formed a formal task force to begin investigating UFOs. However, he directs the researcher to move on by exploring each question.
McGuinness admits that UFO research is often negatively associated with conspiracy theories.
“There really isn’t a lot of data and scientists should be free to follow these guidelines, and that shouldn’t be stigmatized. It’s a very interesting phenomenon and Americans are clearly interested, so if scientists want to investigate, they have to do it,” McGuinness said.
Nelson said NASA did not work directly with the Pentagon on UFOs, but he promised the Pentagon would be aware of NASA scientists’ breakthroughs in identifying them. (ite)
