NASA is concerned about a 200 m wide asteroid that is dangerously approaching Earth, at a speed of more than 82,000 km / h, enough to cause a global disaster if it collides with our planet.
The meteorite, called 2023 CL3, has been placed in the class of “Earth approaches” — a group of space rocks that will pass at most 6.4 million km away, are larger than a certain size, and need to be investigated. constantly.
2023 CL3 is expected to pass by the planet on May 24 of this year, at a distance of just under 6 million km.
The prediction is that it will be possible to see the asteroid only with telescopes, but the distance is considered relatively small in space terms.
