Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The United States Space Agency or NASA is preparing new weapons to find aliens and UFOs. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning will be used to search for other life on Earth.

“We will use AI and machine learning to look for anomalies in the sky… and will continue to search for habitable realities in the sky,” said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, quoted from Fox NewsTuesday (26/9/2023).

AI is known to have been widely used in industry and other scientific fields. According to Nelson, this is NASA’s turn to use technology that has been very popular since the end of last year.

“AI is just emerging to be explored in all fields, so why should we limit the analytical technology tools using the data we have?” he said.

NASA Associate Administrator Nicola Fox explained further the implementation of AI within the agency. There were some cases where they missed signs from a lot of the data that NASA had, he said.

AI will be used to find these signs. For example, finding signs of super storms from old NASA data.

“One example is being able to find signs of superstorms using very old data that previously only consisted of ordinary scientific satellite data,” explained Fox.

The use of AI was also mentioned by the independent UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) research team in a report. The team of 16 people said that AI and machine learning techniques must be used to detect mysterious objects.

“Should be used in a comprehensive UAP detection campaign when used with systematic data collection and strong curation,” the report explains.
