The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration announced that it is looking for crew members to take part in Mars simulations for a year.
NASA is seeking applicants who wish to join as crew members for one-year simulation missions scheduled to launch in the fall of 2022, according to a statement on NASA’s website.
CANDIDATE TO WORK FOR MARS SIMULATIONS FOR ONE YEAR
“Crew Health and Performance Discovery Analogue” It was shared that the series of missions, called as the mission, includes 3 Mars surface simulations for a year, while the simulations will be held at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
With simulations, it is aimed to support research by developing technology to prevent and solve possible problems in future manned space missions to the Moon and Mars.
UNDERSTANDING PURPOSE, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CHALLENGES
Grace Douglas, NASA’s Scientist for Advanced Food Technology Research, stated that analog work is of critical importance. “The simulations will help us understand and confront the physical and mental challenges astronauts will face before they go on space missions.” said.
REQUIRED CONDITIONS FOR CANDIDATES
NASA is looking for candidates between 30 and 55 years old, English speaking, healthy, U.S. citizens or permanent residents to take part in the simulations.
