A bright flash in the sky over Kiev, which residents observed on the evening of April 19, according to preliminary data, is the result of the fall of a NASA space satellite to Earth, reported the Kyiv city military administration.

Direct speech of the head of the KGVA Sergey Popko: “About 22:00 on April 19, a bright glow of an air object was observed in the sky within Kyiv. According to preliminary information, this phenomenon was the result of a NASA space satellite falling to Earth.”
Details: Popko added that an air raid alert was issued to avoid possible casualties from debris falling to the ground.
He stressed that air defense in the capital did not work.
Later, the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that, according to preliminary information, flashes over the city of Kyiv around 22:30 were associated with the fall satellite or meteorite. This information is being updated.
