Perseverance rover robot NASA have found a strange object that looks like a tangled string or even looks like spaghetti.
The strange object lay in the sand, among some Martian rocks. Perseverance discovered it on July 12, 2022, the 495th day of the Mars exploration mission.
It is not clear what the strange object is. However, a close-up of the object looks like a tangled string, prompting questions about how it got to Mars.
Photos of strange objects were then uploaded to Twitter social media and sparked various netizen comments. Some say the object is spaghetti, others joke that it is cheese. While others asked NASA to take more photos.
“I know the creature on Mars is Italian,” wrote @OnARantMan.
Weak knees, sweaty palms, already got dust on my solar panels, Martian spaghetti,” wrote @tyunderwood.
Quoted by CNET, the most logical explanation is that the object is probably debris that has escaped from Perseverance. It is likely to occur during a parachute-assisted landing in February 2021.
Because the same thing happened some time ago. In April, for example, Perseverance discovered the parachute used to land on Mars. Then in July, the rover also found a piece of glossy foil that was used as a Perseverance thermal blanket during the landing.
However, NASA still hasn’t spoken up to explain what looks like spaghetti or tangled strings. But importantly, it is harmless to humans on Earth. So take it easy.
