NASA Reveals Plans for Astronaut Landing on Mars This Year

AMERICANASA revealed that they would be sending astronauts to Mars in the near future. It is said that astronauts will carry out a mission there for 30 days on the planet Mars.

NASA also had time to ask the public for feedback on how the plan could work.

As reported by Space.com, the US Space Agency plans to launch their astronauts to Mars in the late 2030s or early 2040s.

In his presentation, it was explained that astronauts would travel back and forth in about 500 days considering the distance between Earth and Mars is greater than the distance from Earth to the Moon.

That is even if there are no technical obstacles, such as problems with spacecraft, which are currently not sufficiently qualified to go to Mars smoothly.

It is estimated that new astronauts will arrive in Red Planet after months of traveling in zero-gravity space and later having to undergo significant recovery.
NASA suggests that one way to work around this problem is to let the crew stay on the pressurized rover for the duration of their mission.

Kurt Vogel, NASA’s director of space architecture, said they were looking for a way to pre-conditioned astronauts during the trip before putting on their spacesuits.

So far, NASA plans to use rockets powered by chemical and electrical propulsion to transport crews to the Red Planet. Later there will be four astronauts assigned.

Two of them will spearhead this mission by landing directly on Mars. While the rest will live in cabins orbiting around Mars.
