VIVA – One astronaut Aviation Agency and space (NASA) faced a dire situation, when his spacesuit mysteriously filled with water covering his eyes, nose and ears while training in a swimming pool, according to a report.
The spacesuit, which allows astronauts to explore outside the International Space Station (ISS), was later declared prohibited from being used for future missions.
The ban comes after alarming reports that some astronauts faced life-threatening scenarios after their helmets were filled with water inside.
NASA has suspended what it calls extra-vehicular mobility units (EMU). The agency is also investigating the matter, quoted from SpaceSaturday 21 May 2022.

ISS Deputy Program Manager Dana Weigel said the incident prevented them from exploring outside the ISS until the causal factors were found.
“So we won’t be carrying out any planned extra-vehicular activity (EVA) until we have the opportunity to actually address and rule out major system failure modes,” he said.
