NASA mission successfully enters orbit, ready to take humans to the moon?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The spacecraft belonging to the United States Space Agency (USA) or NASA, Orion, successfully entered the orbit of the Moon last Friday. This mission was the beginning of Artemis bringing humans to Earth’s satellite.

Orion took off from Florida for the Moon a week earlier. NASA said flight controllers managed to ignite to put the craft into a distant reverse orbit, quoted by Scientific alarmMonday (11/28/2022).

The current test flight is done unmanned. The goal is to make sure the vehicle is safe.

“The orbit is far away, so Orion will fly about 40,000 miles above the Moon,” NASA said.

While in lunar orbit, the flight controller will monitor the key system. Besides that, he also controls when he is in the space environment.

NASA said Orion would complete half an orbit in a week. Afterwards, the plane will finally return home to Earth.

Orion is scheduled to land in the Pacific Ocean on December 11, 2022. Orion will fly more than 25 days before finally landing.

The Orion spacecraft will carry astronauts to the moon in the future. It will be the first time humans have landed on the moon since the 1972 Apollo missions.

The Artemis 2 mission plans to take astronauts to the moon, but without going down to the surface. New astronauts will descend on the Moon in the Artemis 3 mission.

The two new missions are expected to take place in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
