The Moon will cover the Sun this Monday, leaving some regions completely dark in broad daylight. The solar eclipse will be visible in full in much of North America, but in Portugal only the Azores will be able to witness the phenomenon, and in partial form.
The eclipse can be partially seen in the Azores, according to the Santana Astronomical Observatory, between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm (local time). To magazine National Geographic adds that the island of Corvo, between Ponta dos Turçais and Ponta do Baixio, will be the place with the most visibility.
For all those who will not be able to watch the moment live when the Moon casts its shadow over planet Earth, NASA will broadcast images live from 6 pm (Lisbon time):

NASA will take advantage of study the effect of the eclipse on the ionospherenamely if it can cause disruption to telecommunications, with the launch of three rockets, before, during and after the peak of the eclipse.
The North American space agency reminds that, whether in the case of a total eclipse or for those who can only see a partial eclipselooking directly at the Sun can cause serious injuries. The phenomenon should only be observed with special glasses for this purpose.
