According to the news of the New York Post; Water filled the helmet of the International Space Station astronaut on a space mission. After this incident, NASA canceled non-urgent spacewalks.
NASA said in a statement recently that the helmets worn by astronauts have started to fill with water many times in recent months.
According to CBS, NASA is investigating what causes excessive water buildup on the astronaut’s helmet. NASA stated that the suits called ‘extravehicle mobility units’ (EMUs) could be used for emergencies.

There were other astronauts who faced the problem of a helmet filled with water. The most worrying of these occurred in 2013.
In 2013, European Space Agency astronaut Luca Parmitan nearly drowned. A NASA report detailing the event revealed that the water “covered” Parmitano’s “eyes, nose, and ears. Since then, NASA has placed small sponges in EMU helmets to absorb excess water.”
Parmitano’s experience has not yet been repeated. But German astronaut Matthias Maurer faced a similar danger during his spacewalk in March. NASA astronaut Kayla Barron, who discovered the pooling, mentioned that there is a thin film of water on the helmet and water in the vent on the back of the neck ring.
