VIVA – Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) United States of America opens vacancies for those who are interested in joining and undergoing life simulation missions in Mars.
As quoted from the official site NASA, Tuesday, August 10, 2021, NASA said the simulation on the surface of Mars will be held for one year.
The program will begin in the Fall of 2022. The announcement states that the mission will include a four-person crew living in a module named Mars Dune Alpha 1,700 square feet and 3D printed from NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, USA.
NASA admits that they plan to conduct simulations for challenges that astronauts may face on Mars such as equipment failure, communication delays, and other environmental stresses.
Later, the four-person crew’s duties include simulation of space travel, scientific research, the use of virtual reality and robot control, and communication exchange.
