Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
After having had problems with issuing error codes, finally Hubble telescope back to normal and operating again, Tuesday (7/12).
Body space United States of America (NASA) has finally returned to full operation of the Hubbble telescope to map outer space.
Hubble is one of the best assets NASA has. This telescope captures thousands of beautiful photos of the universe, helps determine its age, and even sees the speed at which it is expanding.
However, as with aging technology, Hubble proved that slowly its monitoring results were no longer perfect.
The telescope was decommissioned last June due to a serious problem with its payload computer system. It took more than a month for NASA to get Hubble back online.
But after the fix, NASA received a code from Hubble on the morning of October 25, indicating that some of Hubble’s instruments were not responding to commands/messages.
Finally, after making repairs all the hard work paid off. On December 7, NASA confirmed it had restored Hubble to normal working.
NASA says the telescope is now operating with all four instruments active to gather space-related information, according to reports Screen Rent.
It took NASA more than a month to fully fix Hubble. The time of a month is called not ideal because it is too long, according to reports Slash Gear.
Just because Hubble is fully operational, doesn’t mean NASA’s work is done. Now, the Hubble team is focused on “developing and testing changes to instrument software” that will enable Hubble to continue its mission.
NASA is also preparing to launch the James Webb Space Telescope on December 22. James Webb will not replace Hubble, but will work together to support the research.
