quote The Verge, Monday (12/6/2021), NASA began looking for proposals for the Commercial Low Earth Orbit development program since July 2021. The purpose of this program is to support the development of private space station.

The private space station program is part of a larger plan that ultimately aims to replace the international space station (ISS) with a commercial private space station.

That way, the space station will be more cost-effective and focus on basic research and exploration.
