NASA Finds New Planet, Called Hell-like Surface : Okezone techno

JAKARTAUnited States Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said that it had recently discovered a new planet, its surface conditions were akin to “hell.”

Adapted from Phys, Friday (3/6/2022), the planet is 50 light years away, named 55 Cancri e and orbiting so close to its “Sun-like star.”

Thus, the surface conditions are literally hellish, a dimension in constant burning.

The data shows that 55 Cancri e is less than 1.5 million miles from its star or 1/25 of Mercury’s distance from the Sun.

“With surface temperatures well above the melting point, the daytime side of the planet is expected to be covered in a sea of lava,” NASA reports.

NASA argues, there is no planet like 55 Cancri e in the Solar System with such extreme conditions.

So far, scientists are still studying whether this hellish planet experiences ebb and flow, with one side facing the star at all times, or whether it rotates to create day and night.

One theory explains that the planet has a dynamic atmosphere that can transfer heat.

Another theory is that 55 Cancri e rotates to create day and night, but the process is horrific.

“In this scenario, the planet’s surface would heat up, melt, and even evaporate during the day, forming a very thin atmosphere that Webb could detect,” NASA said.

“At night, the vapor will cool and condense to form lava droplets that will rain back to the surface, becoming solid again as night falls,” NASA added.
