Suara.com – Space Telescope Hubble still stuck in safe mode, after the engineers NASA failed to fix it.
They also can’t return Hubble telescope to normal operation due to a computer error.
The $4.7 billion telescope stopped on June 13, when the main computer stopped receiving signals.
Because of this, the Hubble system puts all scientific instruments into safe mode.

NASA tried to revive its telescope, but to no avail.
The space agency believes that a faulty computer memory module, made in the 1980s, was the cause of the error.
“When the mission team attempted to switch to the spare memory module, the command to start the spare module failed to complete,” NASA wrote in a statement. Independent, Wednesday (23/6/2021).
A second attempt was made by NASA in hopes of obtaining more diagnostic information, but it was unsuccessful.
The computer, called the NASA Standard Spacecraft Computer-1 (NSSC-1), was built in the 1980s as part of the Science Instrument Command and Data Handling module which was last replaced during a service mission in 2009.

The system is backed up by a second computer that can take control if a problem occurs.
Both computers have four 64K Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) memory modules.
The payload computer only uses one memory module operationally at a time, with the other three serving as backups.
Unfortunately, it is not yet known when NASA will be able to return the Hubble Space Telescope to normal function.
A NASA spokesperson said that there is no definite time limit for getting computers back online.
However, the space agency is working to find the best solution.
